Application of Nano Microporous Panels in Steel-Making

The temperature control of molten steel has a great impact on the cost of steel-making, and the thermal insulation effect directly affects the temperature of molten steel. Generally, the thermal insulation measures are the use of high density ceramic fiber board and reflective insulation board. Generally, the thickness of high-density ceramic fiber board is 25-30mm, which occupies the space of permanent lining castable, and is easy to be compressed to cause shrinkage cracks of permanent lining castable, which affects the service life of ladle. Reflection nano plate is a kind of nano oxide powder insulation material, the thickness of the use is generally 25-30 mm, also occupies a large space of permanent lining castable, but also has the hidden danger of shrinkage cracks in permanent lining castable.

In order to improve the thermal insulation effect of ladle, the steel mill uses 15mm reflective nanoplate on ladle. In practical application, the thermal insulation effect is not ideal because the thermal insulation plate of reflective nanoplate is too thin, and the temperature of steel water is still falling fast. After many experiments, the technology research and development team of steel mill and Zerothermo research and development team successfully applied the Zerothermo high temperature nano microporous on the ladle, the thickness of which is 15mm. Through production practice, good energy-saving effect has been achieved. The temperature of the ladle shell has decreased by about 45℃, and the temperature drop rate of molten steel has decreased by 0.35℃/min compared with the original. There is no shrinkage and cracking phenomenon of castable, which does not affect the service life of permanent castable.

Due to the special structure of the nanoporous raw material powder, the heat conduction of the plate only can be carried out through the tiny particle surface contact, which greatly increases the conduction path and decreases the heat conduction. At the same time, the movement of air molecules in the particle gap decreases significantly, and hardly provides heat convection heat transfer. The addition of shading agent in the material can also realize the barrier of thermal radiation.
